Type of Assignment

This section allows various combinations of anonymous versus authorised access to Assignments, and recorded versus unrecorded results. The most common selection here is probably "Homework or Quiz".

Feedback

Control what students see and when they are shown the feedback: note that the present version of Maple T.A. has a problem in showing feedback after the end date as set in Scheduling below. See Bugs and Shortcomings for the details.

Assignment Properties

The pass score is used to calculate the immediate feedback to students upon completing the Assignment: "Congratulations: you passed with a score of 3 out of 5" and so forth. Set the max # of attempts to prevent an "iterative approach" to completing assignments.

If a time limit is set the student will be shown a timer at the head of the page indicating how much time is left on the Assignment. This might be useful for holding tests within tutorial hours, and allows an even distribution of answering time across the class (even if each student requires "signing in" to begin the task).

Scheduling

This section restricts when the associated object in MyUni will be available. By leaving things unspecified the Assignment will always be visible once deployed in MyUni; this might be useful for Practice problems, and mastery sessions.
