Lemma 1.7 Let A₁,A₂,…,A_t be t mutually orthogonal latin squares (MOLS), then t ≤ n - 1.

Theorem 1.8 A projective plane of order n exists if and only if there exists n - 1 MOLS of order n.

We will work through the proofs of these results in lectures.
