Please Note: From 11
April 2004, the Spam Act (2003) was introduced by legislation by the
Commonwealth Government. This now means that all email messages sent
from the School of Mathematical Sciences email accounts must comply
with the Spam Act.
The Spam Act essentially distinguishes between commercial and
factual electronic messages. Under the Spam Act, whether or not a
message is a commercial electronic message will be determined by the
purpose for which it was sent. You can find some useful guidelines and
resources at the Australian Government's website for the
Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts.
When you post to the above lists please comply with the Spam
Act and please also ask yourself if everybody really needs to
receive your email. A moments reflection is often a good idea.
